Chairman Linda Daves, North Carolina Republican Party, made the following statement:

“Barack Obama has already been to North Carolina to sell his pitch that he is a change agent looking to reach across the aisle and unite Americans.  However, he was not voted the Senate’s most liberal member for nothing.  The more North Carolinians get to know Barack Obama, the more they realize he is just a typical liberal politician outside the mainstream and out of touch with our values.  This type of cold, harsh rhetoric when it comes to human life is deplorable.  Mr. Obama can teach his daughters whatever he likes, but he will not be teaching our children that a baby is a punishment.  Not in North Carolina.”
